Ed Jones Wigan Athletic

Ahh, remember this game? It was supposed to be played aeons ago, but due to broadcast delay, only reaches our screens this evening. Except it isn’t being shown on television but in real life at the (re-rebranded) DW Stadium. Aw, they don’t show replays in the real world! Heh, much like Sky Sports’ coverage of the Blackpool game last week, then.

This current glut of fixtures (7 matches in 20-odd days) combined with the clocks going back reminds me of winter… or is it the prematurely erected Christmas lights in Bolton town centre? Ooh crumbs, apologies for uttering such a dirty word. Actually no, Bolton is cool! Sorry, I had to say that in case any official types are watching and decide to take out a restraining order. “You are not permitted to come within 100 yards of the Hindley-Westhoughton border.”

So yeah, Queens Park Rangers are in town. Sometime Hoops follower Ed Jones, now Head of Media and fully-fledged Ticsmon at Wigan Athletic FC, ably takes up the reins where I have failed. To preview this evening’s game, that is. In this Progress With Unity exclusive interview, Ed speaks of his connection with the London club and there’s a small mention for Bolton as well. Uh oh, that’s three separate instances of that Horwich-based side – I sense the crowd baying for my blood. Roll the tape, roll the tape!

Is it safe to come out yet? Phew. Full length video interview with Ed Jones coming soon.
