Beer cans
Don’t know why I bothered blurring out the logos, you can tell it’s supermarket brand lemonade.

Important notice: Alcoholic beverages are banned from this blog post under Europa League regulations. In addition, for the duration of Wigan’s time in the competition, this website will also be renamed ‘The (Unofficial) Wigan Athletic Moan Centre‘ to conform with sponsorship guidelines.

I’m joking, of course. JWAW exists outside the official ‘bubble’ so I can post pictures of copyrighted logos on beer cans… oh, wait. Dangit! Anyhow, a distinctly North American flavour to tonight’s edition courtesy Vancouver Latic, who makes his Progress With Unity début on another historic day for this little Lancastrian club.

If you’ve dropped on this post after Thursday, there’s also a brief history class, possibly littered with factual errors, on Blackburn-Wigan clashes of recent times. Prepare thyself for some ‘gentle’ ribbing ahead of a potentially fractious local derby.

Contents: Introducing Vancouver Latic & Watford review (0:00); penalty or no? (4:30); NK Maribor preview (13:25); no chance of drinking Canada (well, Bruges) dry (29:20); Blackburn reminiscence and preview (33:45)

Get involved!

Progress With Unity is currently the only Wigan Athletic fan podcast on the web. If you wish to get involved or have any topics you’d like to be discussed, please get in touch with Barry at wigan@vitalfootball.co.uk, marking your email PWU Podcast.

For those too inebriated to notice, there are PWU iTunes, RSS and app pages for you to use as you see fit. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to increase my collection of empty pop cans – I only need 32 more before I can trade them for £13.45 worth of book tokens in Manchester. Sadly it’ll cost me more than that to transport them there via the Wigan-Picadilly train, but I need my copy of Hairy Porter and the Last Crusade before Richard and Judy review it in their book club segment next week.
