Walking away from the DW

Walking away from the DW
Get your walking boots (and sun cream) out!

Fancy a brisk walk on Saturday morning? Then why not join the Joseph’s Goal Walk4Joseph heading from the DW to Bolton’s Reebok Stadium? It’s for a fantastic cause, plus there might be a pie in it for you. Hahah, your ears pricked up then, didn’t they?

You don’t have to be a Latics fan, or even have a ticket for the game. Although the club have today extended the deadline for ticket sales to midday on Saturday, so it’s probably worth grabbing one for the South Stand Upper Tier (£33 adults, £23 concessions). But you’d better hurry, as they say, for they could very easily sell out!

Several hundred supporters are expected to convene at the DW Stadium at 10.00am on Saturday morning, so it’s not as if you’ll have nobody to talk to. Heck, I’ll be there – you know how much of a motormouth I can be on the evidence of 70-odd PWU Podcasts.

Donations can be made before or after the walk, and it isn’t too late to request a sponsorship form. Simply email walk4joseph@hotmail.co.uk and a nice man will send you details. Actually it might be automated, but I’m sure a nice man coded that, because all the programmers I’ve met are thoroughly fantastic chaps. A bit weird, maybe, but nice nonetheless.

So don’t miss the starting gun, which fires at 10.30am on Saturday 29 March. Quicker walkers (i.e. those cheating by using public transport) will arrive at the Reebok at approximately 1.30pm.

Oh, and of all the song lyrics I could have used for the title, why Sting? Well, I dunno. I suppose it sounded good at the time.
