Darwin Monkey's Uncle

Darwin Monkey's Uncle
This gunky Latics junkie’s all clunky.

Heeey, you guyyys! It’s official: the man known only as Chunk (as printed just above his belly button) is PWU’s Lucky Mascot of the Week. And possibly next week’s too, but we’ll see what happens in the forthcoming season re-opener against QPR on Friday. If Wigan lose, he shall most likely be forgotten about, but a win will not only secure him an automatic seat (or three) on that coach down to the capital, but also a place in Latics history alongside ‘believe’ and the JJB pigeon they nicknamed ‘Homer’.

Also in this edition, PWU’s Player of the Season receives his award as part of an extravagant end-of-season dinner… at Jim’s Chippy. He wouldn’t tell Barry where he lives, though, so we can assume he had to walk the 500-odd miles from Spain to north west England. I reckon we should club together and buy him a bike to ensure he extends his contract for at least another season!

Contents: Welcome from a special guest, Ballet Al Habsi! (1:00); Blackburn v Latics reserves (3:38); reality check update (11:50); doing the Chunk Shuffle (13:25); QPR playoffs preview including a quick word with Uwe (16:35), guest punditry from Adam Boxer (21:25) and polarised predictions (30:40); Gareth meets his hero, Jordi Gomez (35:58)

Depending on this week’s results, there may be quite a few podcasts to come before the annual summer break. Our *actual* end-of-season special may be as far as three weeks away, so send your free Clubway sandwich vouchers to PWU, 2 iTunes Road, Appli Cation, WN1 RSS. Go on, we’ll give you a shoutout!

Also, don’t forget those worst XIs… they’re on hold for seven days since we ran out of space and time on Wednesday. I’ve got my XI on a piece of file paper right here, but you’ll have to tune in next week to find out what I’ve scribbled. Send us yours!
